We are all looking for a leg up and something that will make us stand out to recruiters…

Your choice of job after law school” by Nigel Preston is an insightful [work] with content that will give you the advantage through every stage of legal recruitment. In such a competitive industry, you are pushed to jump into the field and gain as much experience as quickly as possible. This [work] must be read before you start looking for a job, even for work experience. Failing to do so can lead you to spend valuable time and energy in the wrong place. We are all looking for a leg up and something that will make us stand out to recruiters – Nigel tells you exactly what that is.The [work] taught me aspects of recruiting that other job-ready programs had not touched on. It is written from a positive, yet practical perspective. Rather than scaring students about the brutality of the job application process, it provides step-by-step instructions about how to best be considered. Episode 2, “Choosing an Objective” was particularly helpful. It was very realistic. Many law students are so concerned about ruling out an area of law that may offer them a job that they use a scattergun approach for applications. The [work] taught me that this either makes for a generic profile or leads to an unfulfilling job. The episode not only shows you how to choose an objective, but to conduct a due diligence of your passion for the law. This ultimately leaves you with the objective that will help you to get the most out of your job. This [work] is a must-have textbook for law students. “Your choice of job after law school” is worth 5 stars.
